Kelly Gunn

Kelly was born in Australia to a Maori father and a Pakeha mother and grew up in Mt Martha on the Mornington Peninsula.

She has worked in many different industries over the years, her favourite and most important job so far being a mother to 10 year old son Daniel.

Kelly is passionate about both her Maori and Pakeha ancestry.  This is one of the reasons she volunteered to sit on the MaraeMelbourne committee - with the assistance of  her father’s Promotional Marketing business - to help to push this kaupapa over the line.

“A Marae in Melbourne would be a haven for Maori  and all New Zealanders, for whanau born and raised here or those that travel over and make Australia home; a place to learn and nurture, a place to practise and grow, a place to grieve, a place to celebrate all things Maori.”
