What is the Brick Program

The Building Fund Brick Program (BFBP)  registered number 11294 (Consumer Affairs Victoria) provides everyone with an opportunity to financially support the building of the marae complex.  All donations accepted for the BFBP will remain in trust until utilised for land purchase and/or construction of complex buildings only.  Your donation will be acknowledged with a “lifelong” plaque displayed within the complex.   Each plaque will display your nominated plaque name and iwi.  Memorial plaques are also available and eligible for status elevation.

How do I apply for a brick?

1. Complete the online BFBP form.

2. Print, complete and sign an official paper application form and post to PO Box 1334, Narre Warren VIC 3805.

How do I pay for a brick?

Currently payment can only be made via direct payment (internet banking) or by depositing payment at your nearest ANZ bank.  Bank account details are as follows:

  • Account Name: MaraeMelbourne Inc Building Fund
  • Account No: 013030-182043844

Once your application is received, you will be given a transaction number.  This number is to be used when setting up your internet banking payment or depositing your payment at the ANZ bank.  This number provides of ease of reference when reconciling payments received.

Status Elevation

Promotion of the BFBP by MaraeMelbourne supporters will enable us to reach our goal faster.  Promotion efforts will be rewarded symbolically by elevating the status of your personal plaque.

  • Your initial donation of $100 will be acknowledged with a KEA plaque.
  • If your promotional efforts result in a total of 2 bricks being tendered you will be acknowledged with a MOA plaque.
  • If your promotional efforts result in a total of 5 bricks being tendered you will be acknowledged with a RURU plaque.
  • If your promotional efforts result in a total of 10 bricks being tendered you will be acknowledged with a TAKAHE plaque.
  • If your promotional efforts result in a total of 20 bricks being tendered you will be acknowledged with a KOTUKU plaque.
  • If your promotional efforts result in a total of 40 bricks being tendered you will be acknowledged with a KERERU plaque.

Plaques will be displayed in the following parts of the complex depending on status:

  • KEA, MOA, RURU:  Dining room.
  • TAKAHE, KOTUKU:  Outside meeting house.
  • KERERU:  Inside meeting house.

Advise your whanau and friends whom you have encouraged to purchase a brick in support of the Building Fund Brick Program to ensure that they include your name in the sponsor section so this can be recorded for status elevation purposes.
